Die Warnow, ein ruhiges durch die leicht hügelige Landschaft Vorpommerns mäanderndes Flüsschen, mündet beim Rostocker Stadtteil und mondänem Badeort Warnemünde in die Ostsee. Dieses Bild hier entstand bei dem Städtchen Schwaan. Der Ort ist bekannt für seine Künstlerkolonie, die hier der großstädtischen Zivilisation entflohen, um sich in der idyllischen Natur und dem besonderen Licht der Landschaftsmalerei zu widmen. The Warnow, a calm little river meandering through the slightly hilly landscape of Western Pomerania in Eastern Germany, flows into the Baltic Sea at the Rostock district and fashionable seaside resort of Warnemünde. This picture was taken near the small town of Schwaan. The town is known for its colony of artists, who fled the big-city civilization here to dedicate themselves to landscape painting in the idyllic nature and the special light.
